Secret Diary of a Wannabe Princess

This week’s #PSBloggerBabes spotlight is pointed on the lovely Debz Aiken from The (Not So) Secret Diary of a Wannabe Princess.  Debz is an outspoken member of the plus size community who has no problem demanding fat acceptance.  She can often be seen taking to Twitter with campaigns such as #WeAreTheThey and #WeAreAllGirls.

150 years down the line someone somewhere stumbles across this interview. What would you like them to know about you and what inspired you to start blogging?

I wanted to show people that you can wear what you want, no matter your size. I don’t always have the most money to spend on clothes or the clothing I want available in my size but in general I am really happy with my wardrobe and the style that I wear.

If you could choose your age forever, what age would it be and why?

I loved being 25, but I would like the knowledge and confidence of my 30 year old self.Hi John

In an ideal world, what would be your blog working environment versus what the reality is?

I would love to blog full time, in a little cute study in my house. The walls covered with body positive art and cute canvas’. In reality I sit on my bed with my laptop on my knees, blogging while I watch Coronation Street.

To date, what has been your favourite blog post and why?

This got us trending on Twitter and so many people got involved, which made it such a special post for me.

How would you describe your personal style?

Comfortable! I hate being uncomfortable so my dresses are always easy to wear. I love dresses (with leggings or without) in bright colours and funky patterns.

Show us your favourite picture of yourself and why?

I try not to pick a favourite. Photos are just a snapshot of what we look like in that exact moment – which isn’t important and always changes. I like to see more than just what I look like, so I would choose photos based on memories or how I felt in that moment.

What has been the biggest change in your life since you started blogging?

I now have more clothes than ever, as blogging has opened my eyes to the sheer amount of clothing that is available. I have new friends, social scene and the chance to hang out with people at places like Curve Fest next month.

What is the single most important thing you’d like people to take away from reading your blog?

You are THE ONLY person who has to live in your body – as long as you are happy with how you look, that is all that matters.

Now for our quick fire ten…

What is your favourite ice cream flavour? Carte Dior, Eton Mess
If money were no object, where in the world would you go on holiday? Las Vegas and Japan
What’s your favourite season? Summer
Would you rather be a giant rodent or a tiny elephant? Tiny elephant
Last film you watched? Beauty and The Best
Do you have a nickname and if yes, what is it? No
If you had your human body, but the head of an animal, what animal would it be? Rabbit – how cute!!
What do you usually eat for breakfast? Nothing – oops!
Who would play you in the movie of your life story? Fat Amy
Most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done? I always do random things, but small. Like going out for dinner in Leeds last Sunday and then ending up booking a hotel and staying over. Or moving to Birmingham with no house and no job last year!
