So I’m fortunate enough to run a Facebook group for a bevvy of gorgeous lovelies. One of the upsides of this is that I get to come across fabulous fashion that I might otherwise miss. One of my my favourite things about discovering the plus size community and plus size bloggers is getting to see what fashion looks like on bodies similar to mine. This is exactly how I discovered my latest acquisition. One of the lovelies in the group called Rachel showed off her lovely new dress which was a cat print dress from Lindy Bop. Off I went to find it only to discover that it wasn’t available in my size.
I waited for a bit and kept checking back with optimistic anticipation and it paid off as it came back in to stock. I say it came back in to stock but technically it was a size up from what I usually wear but that wasn’t going to stop me. A couple of minutes and the order confirmation dropped into my emails. I was looking for something to wear for an interview for Dutch TV and I knew this would be perfect and it was an absolutely bargain at £14.99 delivered.
My pretty little Lindy Bop package actually arrived really quickly and when I opened it up she was even prettier than I hoped. The dress style is called Dawn and is a new style for me but it definitely won’t be my last. I do think, if I’d of had the choice, I wouldn’t of needed to size up as my usual size UK 24 would of been true to size. As this is a 26 it feels slightly bigger than others I have and this is evident from the under arm gaping.
Dawn is made from a really comfortable stretch cotton. The main dress is 97% cotton and 3% elastane. The body of the dress is lined with 90% polyester and 10% elastane. It has a lovely crossover neckline which gathers at the waist and does come with a matching belt, although I’ve chosen not to use it. The skirt of the dress is a swing style skirt and overall I’m really pleased with it. I have teamed it with a little pair of ballet pumps from Primark and a red double dahlia hair flower from one of my favourite hair flower girls, Holly at Alternate Normality. This particular flower is currently out of stock but check out what else is available here.
I’m so much in love with this style I’ve already got my eye on two other prints, Blue Flower Fairy and Red Fiesta, but as both are in the sale reduced to £9 from £32 and only limited sizes are available I’m not going to hold my breath for either.
Finally here I am wearing my Clever Cat Print Dawn for my interview for Dutch TV but that’s a tale for another time.
